What We're Doing for Our Members

We are currently in negotiations for our second contract with Brookdale, having reached an impasse. The college has issued a "last and final" compensation offer which represents a pay cut in real wages, as it does not keep up with inflation. We are fighting for raises that exceed the rate of inflation and for our pay to not be tied to the full-time faculty overload rate.

We've already made progress on several tentative agreements, including:

  • Ensuring adjunct faculty are paid for their office hours if teaching during a 7- or 11-week term.
  • Allowing one in-person class per semester to be taught asynchronously.
  • Ensuring you do not lose union protections if you take on other work at the school.

We are holding urgent town hall meetings to discuss the last and final offer and need your input on how to move forward. We are also circulating a petition and planning other campaign events like leafletting and a rally.
